In 2010, Autosport Dynamics (ASD) started an “ASD Mob” program that invited 10 members and 5 prospects chosen by ASD to be a part of the ASD family for 2011. ASD knows that upcoming drivers in drifting are the core of the sport, and by supporting grassroots drivers we can help grow drifting. ASD has been part of professional drifting since 2007, and along the way have enjoyed some success. It’s now time to give back to the sport that has been good to us. There’s a lot of aspects to the pro level of drifting many people may not know about, and we plan on helping some up and coming drivers prepare themselves to obtain a Formula D license.

After countless hours reviewing over 250 applications, we have finally made our selections for the 2012 ASD Mob program. This year was incredibly difficult to choose between the applications since there were so many really talented drivers who are ready for this program. This year has been such a great success for the Mob drivers, and supporting partners like Falken Tire, Enkei Wheels, The Driveshaft Shop, Mechanix Wear, Heatshield Products and many others. We are also excited to announce we are adding a number of other amazing deals to the 2012 ASD Mob through companies like HRE Wheels and many others.

We will be contacting the 10 new ASD Mob members Monday to organize their all expense paid trip to the ASD Mob chassis seminar in Charlotte NC, get their login details for the ASD Mob forum, and all the other benefits from the program that will be effective starting Monday.

Some of you may be thinking, “Weren’t some of those guys in the 2011 program?” As you might know, for 2011 we had a “Prospect” group of 5 guys that didn’t make it as full “Members” for 2011. We decided not to do the Prospect program for 2012 to allow us to focus our efforts on strictly the ten selected members for the year. Some of the prospects from 2011 were chosen for the 2012 ASD Mob as full members.

We’d like to again thank all of the people who applied for this coming year’s ASD Mob program, and encourage any of you who did not make it this year to apply again next year!

This has been a spectacular year for the 2011 Class of ASD Mob Members, and we are going to renew our commitment in 2012 to help the amateur grassroots level get to the level they need to be competitive at in the Formula Drift Championship. Alumni Mob Members will attest to the success that the Mob program has brought them, and the level at which their understanding of professional drifting has grown. We are excited to see the new talent on deck for the year to come.

We are now accepting applications for the 2012 ASD Mob. We will be accepting them until September 30th at 5pm EST. There were hundreds of applicants for the 2011 season, so make sure you get yours in early! Brian Peter finishes 4th

Brian Peter had a great result at Round 1 of the Midwest Drift Union series. He was able to qualify 2nd in his Mazda RX-7, recording the highest of the weekend. He also moved on to finish 4th for the event overall. Stay tuned for more as Brian continues throughout the season!
